Local Attractions #25: St. Stephen's Green

St. Stephen’s Green is the home of Dublin’s most beautiful Victorian public parks. After a long day on your feet shopping in the City, why not walk across the road from Grafton Street to sit down and rest your feet while taking in the beautiful views of the park.

Covering 9 hectares, you are sure to find a beautiful view no matter what the season. The park features over 3.5km of pathways, allowing for walks at your own pace and leisure as you take in all the sights and ambience of this beautiful city centre park. Located in the centre of the park you will find a large lake which is home to many ducks and other water fowl.

Throughout your walk you will be met with many sculptures located around the park, many referencing historical aspects of Dublin throughout the centuries. St. Stephens Green is suitable with for all ages including the youth with a large children’s playground and throughout the summer you can see live concerts performed on the bandstand while you sit back and enjoy the sun and your lunch.
St. Stephens GreenA special feature St. Stephens Green has on offer is a garden for the blind. Within this garden visitors can smell the scented plants, which they can handle and are all labelled in Braille. This is something in which not many parks provide and it is a special touch for visitors of the park.
