LOCAL ATTRACTIONS #17: GAIETY THEATRE

The Gaiety Theatre is a landmark of Dublin City Centre and has been showcasing productions and events in Dublin for nearly 150 years since 1871. The theatre has entertained millions of people in a variety of arts including opera, drama, musicals, comedy, dance, pantomime and much more. A visit to Dublin is certainly not complete without a visit to The Gaiety Theatre.
Gaiety TheatreThe Theatre is known for hosting top class national and international shows from acts across the globe, and has played host to international stars such as Pavlova, Markova, Krassovska (Ballet), Salvini, Pavarotti, Joan Sutherland (Opera) and great actors such as Edwin Booth, Henry Irving, Ellen Terry, Sara Bernhardt, Mrs Patrick Campbell and Sybil Thorndyke.

The Gaiety Theatre is located 8km from The West County Hotel, or a 25 minute drive. Take Bus 26 from outside the hotel and get off at Stop 406 (Nassau). The Gaiety Theatre is located a 7 minute walk from this bus stop.
