Local Attractions #34: Dublin Liberties Distillery
17 April 2019
Dublin Liberties Distillery is the newest distillery experience in Dublin City. Situated in the heart of Dublin’s historic Liberties area, the distillery plays on the history of its famous location and has created a unique tour experience for locals and tourists alike.
Visitors are immersed in the history and mythology of the Liberties, in an area locally known as Hell. The distillery experience offers a fully guided tour including the stories behind the mystery and mayhem of whiskey distilling over the centuries in what was once the whiskey capital of the world (Dublin is quickly closing the gap to reclaiming this title in recent years). Learn more on the distilling process, and get up close and personal with the copper pot stills as you experience the full distilling process.
Naturally, no tour will be complete without a tasting session, and the tour finishes with samples of finely blended and malt whiskeys from the Dublin Liberties Distillery company as you witness first-hand the reason behind the renaissance behind Irish Whiskey production.
