Glasnevin Cemetery is one of Irelands largest visited Cemetery. Over 1.5 million people are buried on the grounds of the cemetery.

Opened 7 days a week, with guided tours and a museum that will educate you beyond words. Everyday there is guided tours around the cemetery delivered by tour guides whom make the trip interesting and enjoyable for all ages. Not only is visiting Glasnevin Cemetery a history lesson but it can also be a history and heritage tour in which you can from out your family history using the sources located in the museum.

Only located 2.5km from the city centre, Glasnevin’s Victorian 124 acres parkland is someone everyone must see to explore the history, heritage and pay respect to Irish heroes such as Eamon De Valera, Luke Kelly and Cathal Brugha to name just a few.

Glasnevin is one of Ireland’s most popular attractions so you would be mad not to visit while making a trip to Dublin. Distance from West County
Glasnevin Cemetery is situated just 9km from The West County Hotel or a 20 minute drive. You can take the buses 25, 26, 66, 66A, 66B or 67 from outside the hotel and get off at Stop 315. When you get off stop you will walk for approx. 5 minutes until you get to Westmooreland Street, Fleet Street, Stop 319. From Stop 319 you will take the buses 40 towards Carlestown Shopping Centre or 140 towards Finglas (IKEA). You will get off at Stop 1508 Finglas Rd, Glasnevin Cemetery, you will arrive at your destination then.

Please note that Glasnevin is located at Stop 21e on the City Sightseeing Bus that picks passengers up at 9.30am at The West County
